Richard is no stranger to philanthropic projects and is dedicated to making a difference in the world we live in. Often times, it’s the little nudges that we receive in our youth that help to open our eyes and expand our horizon. Richard Griffin has a BS in Physics from Texas State University, an MBA from the University of Tennessee, is a certified Project Management Professional, and he serves on the Board of Directors for the Texas State University Alumni Association.
Eric has been working in various Analyst & Controller roles in Oil & Gas and Land Development over the last 13 years. He received his BA in Finance at Texas State University and an MBA from the University of Tennessee. He is married with three children, who are in elementary school and junior high. With Alma’s Light, he hopes to inspire his family to leave the world a better place than how they found it.
This home-grown Houstonian knows first hand the demanding needs of our youths’ education in today’s society. An accomplished young mother, she adores her teenage son and understands the cost associated with supplies, extra curricular activities and just trying to put food on the table. Involved with many charities over the years in her attempts to give back to the community, Christina has dedicated herself to what she believes to be her real purpose in life… Service to others.
(Regional Manager – San Marcos)
Lauren is a young Hispanic woman who was born and raised in the border town of Brownsville, Texas. She is a public relations student at Texas State University where she is a part of the Honors College, Dean’s List, and Council of Scholars. Her community service journey started when she was just seven years old, and she is continuing her passion of helping others through Alma’s Light. She also volunteers with the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Foundation as a part of the Junior Staff and the Communications Team.
Meet Dave Meredith, a San Diego, California native and Social Marketing guru. As a University of San Francisco alumni, he ventured straight into marketing in the corporate and non-profit world. Wanting to get back to his roots, Dave see’s Alma’s light as an opportunity to serve the people that need it most. Dave lives locally in the heart of Katy, TX and is a proud father of two beautiful girls.
We are looking to build our presence in the Hill Country and Houston areas
If you’re ready to be a part of something bigger than yourself, we have a few leadership positions that could benefit from a person with your talents.
You would work closely with our Co-founders to help develop a website to highlight the progress we have made, and to increase our behind the scenes functionality for the website. This role has no specific location requirements, we are simply looking for a go-getter who wants to help make a difference.
Regional Coordinator – San Antonio
You would work closely with our Co-founders to build a team in the San Antonio area. This role will require you to be a leader in public relations and communications, while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail. You would also be responsible for maintaining and developing relationships with current and prospective donors.
Development Assistant – Houston
You would work closely with our COO in the greater Houston area. Your primary responsibilities would include managing and developing relationships with current and prospective donors, assisting with our Houston area logistics, and helping to successfully implement our annual drives.
